Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about editions, data, calculations and support.

General

Which Zoho CRM editions are supported?

Commission Slate needs Zoho CRM Professional edition or higher, with the Deals, Invoices and Sales Orders modules and custom functions.

Which CRMs does it work with?

Zoho CRM today, through the extension, plus the standalone Commission Slate web app, which works without a CRM. HubSpot and Pipedrive are planned; join the waitlist and tell us which one you need.

Do I need a third-party account?

No. You only need your Zoho CRM login. The extension does not connect to any other service.

How much does it cost?

It is free on the Zoho Marketplace. Optional paid add-ons may come later, with no obligation. See Pricing.

Data and privacy

Where does my data live?

Inside your own Zoho CRM organisation. Commission Slate stores its plans, rules, ledger, payouts and logs in its own modules in your CRM. Nothing is sent to Skyfall Labs servers; the extension makes no external calls.

Does it change my CRM records?

No. It reads your Deals, Invoices and Sales Orders and writes only to its own modules. Your source records are never modified.

Can reps see each other’s commissions?

No. Reps see only their own lines. Set Commission Ledger sharing to Private in Zoho’s Data Sharing Settings, and ledger lines and payouts are owned by the payee.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

Zoho deletes all Commission Slate data from your organisation: plans, rules, ledger, payouts and logs. Your CRM records are untouched. Export what you need first. If you reinstall immediately, Zoho may block the install for a few minutes while it cleans up.

Using Commission Slate

How are commissions calculated?

You choose a basis (for example the invoice total minus shipping and tax), then rules by person, product or team: flat amounts, percentages or tiers. Each ledger line records the rule that produced it and a plain-language reason.

Can partners and contacts be paid, not just users?

Yes. Payees can be users, contacts, accounts or vendors, and one sale can be split between several of them.

What happens when a deal is lost or an invoice is cancelled?

Commission Slate recalculates and posts a clawback line that shows what was reversed and why, so the ledger stays auditable.

Which currency are amounts shown in?

Your organisation’s home currency, everywhere. The setting defaults to your org currency and keeps any currency you choose in Settings.

Can I recalculate past periods?

Yes. In Settings, choose Recalculate for a date range. Records with a blank date field are skipped and counted in the result so you can fix them.

Does Commission Slate pay my people?

No. It records payouts (Create payout, Mark as paid, Void) and produces statements. You send the money by your usual method.
